Green Summit

Who we help

HERS Raters & Energy Auditors

Build a stronger practice with the right technical support.

A HERS Rater never works alone: every rating is registered through a RESNET-accredited Rating Provider, whose quality assurance stands behind it. Green Summit is RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221, and we support rating companies, HERS Raters, energy auditors, Rating Field Inspectors and credential candidates with providership, quality assurance, technical guidance and practical development. Start with your current role and the work you want to perform, and we will help you identify the support and qualifications that fit.

Where would you like to start?

Your role decides which support fits. Choose where you are today — or where you want to be — and we will show you the work that applies, and nothing else.

Solutions

Future energy workforce pathways

The next generation of field roles is being defined now. Solar, battery and thermal-storage apprenticeship pathways are in development, and raters and auditors who already understand buildings have a head start — help us shape what those pathways should require. We will tell you plainly what is available today and what is still being built.

HERS, RFI & professional pathways

Know what your role requires before you invest in it. A Rating Field Inspector performs inspections and tests under a Rater's supervision; a HERS Rater also models the home and takes responsibility for the rating — and each role has its own training, evaluations and supervised experience. We map the pathway for the role you want, mentor you through the credentialing steps and support the ratings you produce along the way.

Modeling, code & certification skills

The raters clients call back are the ones who can model the home, read the code and carry a certification through. We help you strengthen modeling, residential energy-code and certification skills across ENERGY STAR, DOE Efficient New Homes, Indoor AirPlus, LEED, Phius and Enterprise Green Communities — Manual J, D and S included — and understand how your clients connect green-building goals with decarbonization and eligible financing such as C-PACE. Client financing advisory is separate from rater credentialing.

Rebate programs & expanded field roles

Your field skills can carry into rebate programs, project verification and measurement and verification work — but a HERS credential does not carry with them. Each program sets its own qualifications and each assignment stands on its own agreement, so we help you explore this work under separate, program-specific qualifications and assignments. New Jersey's energy programs are one example of where that work exists.

RESNET Providership & quality assurance

Every HERS rating you produce is registered through a Rating Provider, and the Provider's quality assurance is what stands behind it. As RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221, we bring your rating files, field records and technical questions into one clear provider-supported workflow, so QA findings arrive as guidance you can act on rather than surprises at registration.

Testing equipment & field support

A test is only as good as its setup. We give you practical support for blower-door and duct-leakage test setup and documentation, and we rent the equipment the work requires. When a project calls for commercial air-leakage testing beyond a residential rater's scope, Commercial Envelope Testing Co., a wholly owned Green Summit company, performs it.

Our process

  1. Find the right entry point. We review your business, credentials, current provider relationship and goals before recommending anything.
  2. Set the qualification plan. We lay out the onboarding, training, mentoring and evaluation requirements for the role you have selected, so nothing surprises you mid-pathway.
  3. Work with support. You submit the records the role requires, receive technical feedback and address QA findings with a Provider that explains the reason behind each one.
  4. Expand deliberately. Add new services only after the training, credentials and authorizations they require are in place — one credential never covers every service.

What your practice gains

  • Clear expectations for testing, documentation and technical review.
  • Mentoring and practical professional development from people who do the work themselves.
  • A pathway to complementary work that never assumes one credential covers every service.

Why Green Summit

Commitment. Consistency. Compliance. Those three principles shape Green Summit's Rating Providership and every piece of technical support we offer. Green Summit is a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions in specialty tax credits and incentives, building performance and advisory services — founded in 2014, RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221, and a licensed engineering firm with building-science and field expertise — and we help independent professionals strengthen their own practices.

Potential Green Summit assignments depend on project demand, qualifications, location and a separate agreement; affiliation is not a promise of leads or revenue. We would rather say that plainly at the start than let you plan a business around it.
