Field Inspections & Project Verification

Capture the evidence while it can still be seen.

Insulation disappears behind drywall, equipment gets substituted and corrections happen without anyone photographing them, and what is concealed, substituted or left undocumented shapes decisions made months later. Field verification is the discipline of observing installed conditions at the stage when they can still be seen and recording them in a form the people who need them can use. Green Summit provides energy-related inspections and field verification for project teams that need reliable evidence of existing conditions, installed work and completed corrections. We match the inspection scope to the project stage, the governing requirements and the people who will use the findings.

What we do

  • Document baseline conditions. We record the building and system characteristics within scope before improvements or further analysis begin.
  • Verify work at the right stage. We coordinate pre-drywall, installation and final inspections where the contracted program requires them, because a pre-drywall condition cannot be verified after the drywall goes up.
  • Collect technical evidence. We capture scope-specific photographs, measurements, equipment information and testing records.
  • Track closeout items. We document deficiencies and verify the corrective actions and the missing evidence that follow.

Our process

  1. Define the evidence. We identify what must be recorded and when it can still be observed.
  2. Coordinate the visit. We arrange site access and qualified personnel for the assignment.
  3. Inspect and report. We perform the inspection and organize the findings for the team responsible for acting on them.

What you receive

Inspection reports, photographic records, issue tracking and technical closeout documentation. We confirm qualifications and authority for each specific assignment before staffing it, and an energy inspection never substitutes for an official code inspection.

Benefits

  • A consistent field record of the installed conditions within the inspection scope.
  • Clear documentation of deficiencies, follow-up responsibilities and closeout evidence.
  • Findings organized for the people who have to act on them, not filed for their own sake.

Why Green Summit

Green Summit is a licensed engineering firm and RESNET Rating Provider (No. 1998-221), founded in 2014 as a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions in building performance. Our engineers, modelers and field professionals connect the analysis to installed conditions and to the decision the owner needs to make. Field verification can stand alone or feed a coordinated assessment, implementation and verification engagement, and because the same firm performs the air-leakage and duct testing, models the buildings and prepares incentive documentation, we know what evidence each of those uses will eventually require. Every record is built to be audit-ready from day one.

Frequently asked questions

What is field verification?

Field verification is the inspection of a building at defined stages to record existing conditions, installed work and completed corrections as they can actually be observed. It produces evidence, such as photographs, measurements, equipment information and testing records, that a program, an owner or a design team can rely on later. It is distinct from an official code inspection, which remains the jurisdiction's authority.

Can a HERS Rater perform every inspection?

No. Each assignment carries its own qualification, program, licensing and authorization requirements. We establish those requirements before we staff the work, so the person on site is the person the program or jurisdiction recognizes.

Can inspections support a rebate or tax study?

Yes, when the scope identifies the evidence the program or study requires and we gather it at the right stage. An inspection alone never establishes funding or tax eligibility; it supplies the field record on which that determination is made.

Can you coordinate multiple locations?

We develop a regional delivery plan around qualified personnel, the project requirements and mobilization needs. Coverage is established for each assignment rather than assumed, and we tell you where and when we can deliver before you plan a program around it. For a builder or program working across regions, that plan also sets the reporting conventions every site will follow.

How can inspection records stay consistent between sites?

Shared checklists, photo requirements, test-data conventions and review procedures keep the record consistent. We define a common reporting package for the program while accounting for local and program-specific differences, so a reviewer sees the same structure from every site.

Do you act as the building official?

Not unless a specific lawful authorization establishes that role. Green Summit's contracted verification supports the owner, the design team or the program, and it never replaces the jurisdiction's authority. Your permit inspections proceed on their own track, and our record is written so it can sit beside them without being mistaken for them.

Let's define the evidence your project needs before it is covered up.

Tell us the project and its location, which program or requirement the record must serve and the stage the work has reached.
