Indoor AirPlus Support
Indoor air is built in, not tested in. Plan the measures while the walls are open.
Indoor AirPlus certification recognizes new homes that include a specified set of moisture-control, ventilation, filtration and related measures, verified as they are installed; it is a construction specification with a checklist behind it, not an air-quality test after move-in. The requirements therefore need attention while assemblies and systems are being selected and installed, and they interact with the HVAC design more than with any other trade. Builders and developers pursue Indoor AirPlus on its own or alongside an energy certification, though ENERGY STAR never includes it automatically. Green Summit supports Indoor AirPlus projects with technical coordination, checklist review and verification planning as a RESNET Rating Provider and licensed engineering firm, connecting the program's requirements to the responsible parties and the evidence needed at each stage; the program awards the certification.

- Founded 2014
- Audit-ready documentation
Who this is for
Builders, developers and design teams adding Indoor AirPlus to new-home projects, affordable-housing and Tribal housing programs, and the raters who verify the measures.
What we do
- Identify the requirements that apply. We establish the program version, the project type and any associated certification commitments before we define the scope.
- Review project information. We coordinate the relevant design and equipment records with the responsible professionals, starting with the HVAC designer.
- Plan verification tasks. We identify the required observations, the documentation and the qualified verification responsibilities, and we schedule them around installation.
- Support the record. We track evidence and open issues through the program-closeout scope defined in your engagement.
Our process
- Establish the project and program requirements. We identify the version, the project type and the commitments the certification must satisfy.
- Coordinate evidence collection and verification stages. We tie each observation and record to the stage of construction where the measure can still be seen.
- Review completion records and unresolved items. We check the closeout record and work the open items to resolution.
What you receive
A requirements checklist for your program version, a coordinated verification plan and technical documentation support. This is program support; it is not a medical, environmental-hazard or comprehensive indoor-air testing service, and we say so in every engagement.
Benefits
- Indoor AirPlus requirements translated into practical installation and verification tasks for each trade.
- A documented record of the specified moisture, ventilation and related measures, as installed.
- Coordination with the energy certification the project is already pursuing, without assuming one program covers the other.
- Ventilation, filtration and moisture-control decisions reviewed with the HVAC designer before equipment is ordered, not after it is installed.
Why Green Summit
Green Summit combines building-science analysis, rating-provider quality processes and project coordination. Founded in 2014, we are a licensed engineering firm and RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221, and we define the qualifications and evidence the selected program requires rather than treating every credential as interchangeable.
Our role starts with the checklist for your program version and ends with a closeout record the program can review. We coordinate the measures with the professionals who design and install them, we verify what the scope authorizes us to verify, and we build the record to be audit-ready from day one. We never present program support as a health guarantee or as an air-quality investigation.
Frequently asked questions
What is Indoor AirPlus?
Indoor AirPlus is a certification for new homes that include a specified set of moisture-control, ventilation, filtration and related measures, verified during construction. It is a set of construction requirements with a checklist behind it, not an air-quality test and not a health guarantee. Green Summit reviews the checklist, coordinates the evidence and plans the verification; the program makes the certification decision.
Does this include mold or hazardous-material testing?
Not under the standard program-support scope. Those investigations require separately qualified specialists and an expressly defined engagement, and we will tell you when a question falls outside our role rather than stretch a certification checklist to cover it.
Does ENERGY STAR automatically include Indoor AirPlus?
No. We can coordinate related requirements, but the Indoor AirPlus obligations and their verification must be established and documented separately.
Can you guarantee occupant health outcomes?
No. Program support is not a health guarantee. Scope, installation quality, operation and the building's ongoing conditions all affect indoor air, and we never present certification as a promise about health.
Can this be applied to an existing home automatically?
No. We first establish the program, the version and the project's eligibility. General indoor-air-quality improvements are never represented as certification under a pathway that does not fit the project.
Why coordinate with the HVAC designer?
Because ventilation, filtration, moisture control and equipment operation interact; a change to one can undo another. Early coordination connects the program requirements with the systems that will actually be installed and maintained, and it gives the installer a specification to build to rather than a checklist to reconcile later.

Tell us the project type and location, the stage of design or construction, and which energy certification, if any, the homes already pursue.
