Technical Training & Continuing Education
Practical training for the work your people actually perform.
Training and continuing-education credit are two different things. Training builds a skill your team will use on the next job; CE credit is a separate approval that an organization such as RESNET or a licensing board grants to a specific course, and it has to be confirmed for that course. Green Summit develops technical education around building science, field testing, energy modeling, quality assurance and program delivery, as a licensed engineering firm that also holds RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221. We shape each course for raters, auditors, contractors, designers, owners or program teams, with practical instruction tied to the responsibilities they carry.
- Licensed engineering firm
- RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221
- Founded 2014
- Audit-ready documentation
Who this is for
Building owners, contractors, energy auditors, raters, code officials and program teams that need their people to understand the technical work and the documentation behind it.
What we do
- Teach building science and diagnostics. We develop a working understanding of envelopes, ducts, ventilation and correctly documented field testing, on equipment your team will recognize.
- Connect modeling, codes and certifications. We show how software inputs, program requirements and field verification depend on one another, so a model is never built in isolation from the site.
- Explain energy systems and emerging technology. We build understanding of PV, batteries, thermal storage and system integration through instruction sized to the learners' role and responsibilities.
- Strengthen quality, ethics and professional practice. We reinforce technical records, responsible judgment, clear communication and the consultative business skills a technical career runs on.
Our process
- Define the learners and the work. We identify starting skills, job responsibilities and the learning outcomes you want, and we set prerequisites and skill level for the offering.
- Choose the format. Classroom, virtual, modular-lab or field instruction, matched to the topic, the equipment and the readiness of your site.
- Teach and practice. We combine explanation, demonstration and hands-on activities, so learners handle the equipment and the documentation rather than watch slides about them.
- Evaluate and follow through. We use feedback and the assessments we set together to identify each learner's next step, including mentoring or a qualification pathway where one fits.
What you receive
A course built around your team's responsibilities, delivered in the format you chose, with a written statement of what the offering covers, who is qualified to teach it and whether continuing-education credit has been approved for it. Where assessments are part of the plan, you receive the results and a recommended next step for each learner.
Benefits
- Instruction connected to real technical and program responsibilities, so what is taught in the session is used on the next job.
- A common understanding across project and delivery teams, from the field crew to the person reviewing the file.
- Practical pathways into deeper mentoring and qualification for the people who want to go further.
Why Green Summit
Green Summit is a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions in building performance, and we bring engineering, Quality Assurance Designee (QAD) experience and daily field practice into every course. Founded in 2014, we teach with modular training units and diagnostic equipment that make the work tangible, and our program and project experience lets us explain why the documentation matters, not just how to fill it in.
Course dates, instructor qualifications and CE approvals are confirmed for each offering. We never advertise a course as earning RESNET, licensing-board or other continuing-education credit until that approval is in hand.
Frequently asked questions
What is technical training and continuing education?
Technical training is instruction built around the work practitioners perform: building science, diagnostic testing, energy modeling, documentation, quality assurance and program delivery, taught in classroom, virtual, modular-lab or field formats. Continuing-education credit is a separate approval that an organization such as RESNET or a licensing board grants to a specific course, with its own hours and attendance rules. A course can be excellent training without carrying CE credit, so we identify the two separately for every offering.
Who can attend technical training?
Courses can be designed for raters, auditors, contractors, code officials, owners and program teams. We state the prerequisites and the intended skill level for each offering, so the right people are in the room.
Which topics can a custom course cover?
Building science, diagnostic testing, modeling, documentation, quality assurance, ethics and related energy systems, including PV, batteries and thermal storage. We match the curriculum and the instructor's qualifications to your actual learning objective.
Does every course provide continuing-education credit?
No. Credit approval, the approving organization, the hours and the attendance requirements are confirmed for each particular course. We never present general training as approved CE without that confirmation.
Can training be delivered at our location?
Yes, where equipment, site readiness and scope allow. Delivery can include virtual sessions, classroom instruction and hands-on training, and modular training units support practical demonstrations where the site suits them.
Can training be connected to a workforce program?
Yes. We help define the skills, instruction, mentoring and evaluation around the work a community or employer expects its people to perform. Planned apprenticeship offerings are identified separately from the courses available today.
