HERS Raters & Energy Auditors · Solutions

HERS, RFI & professional pathways

Know what your role requires. Then build the skills, evaluations and supervised experience it calls for.

A HERS Rater, a Rating Field Inspector and a modeler each hold a different role, and a credential earned in one does not cover the next. The Rating Field Inspector performs the observations and tests a rating depends on; the Rater is responsible for the rating itself. Green Summit helps you understand the requirements for your role and develop the skills, evaluations and supervised experience it needs, with mentoring from people who still do the work.

What we offer HERS raters & energy auditors

  • HERS Credentialing & Mentoring

Turn feedback into stronger field and modeling practice. Mentoring, supervised development and recertification-related evaluations within your role and provider requirements, starting from your experience and the specific skills or records that need attention.

  • HERS Rater Certification Pathway

Build the skills and evidence a HERS Rater role requires. We connect the education, examinations, mentoring, field practice and provider requirements into one plan matched to your starting point.

  • HERS Ratings

See how a finished rating comes together. We support HERS Ratings through coordinated energy modeling, inspections, diagnostic testing and provider-controlled review for qualifying residential projects, the whole workflow a candidate is learning to carry.

  • Rating Field Inspector Development

Develop the field skills that make ratings reliable. Practical instruction, mentoring and evaluation matched to the role for RFI candidates and developing field professionals, focused on the quality of the observations, tests and records the Rater relies on.

How we work with your team

  • Start from your experience.

We review your credentials, provider relationship and goals before we recommend a pathway.

  • Set the qualification plan.

We lay out the onboarding, training, mentoring and evaluation requirements for the role you have chosen, in the order you will meet them.

  • Expand deliberately.

You add a new role only after the training, credentials and authorizations it requires are in place; one credential never covers every service.

Why Green Summit

Commitment. Consistency. Compliance. Those principles shape how Green Summit, RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221 and a licensed engineering firm founded in 2014, supports the professionals who rate under its providership; as a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions, we help independent professionals strengthen their own practices rather than absorb them. A pathway leads to a credential, not to a promise of work: potential Green Summit assignments depend on project demand, qualifications, location and a separate agreement, and affiliation is not a promise of leads or revenue.

Let's map the pathway to your next credential.

Tell us your current role, the credential you are working toward and the training or mentoring you have completed so far.
