HERS Credentialing & Mentoring

Turn QA feedback into stronger field and modeling practice.

Learning a skill, passing an evaluation and receiving a credential are three different things, and a HERS career depends on knowing which one you are working on. RESNET sets the standards and certifies HERS professionals; a Rating Provider like Green Summit supplies the mentoring, supervised practice and evaluations that get you there and keep you there. As RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221, we support HERS professionals with mentoring, supervised development and recertification-related evaluations within the requirements of your role and provider relationship. The starting point is always your experience and the specific skills or records that need attention.

Who this is for

Credential candidates working toward a HERS role, and certified HERS Raters and Rating Field Inspectors who want to sharpen a skill, resolve a QA pattern or prepare for recertification, whether they are affiliated with our providership or considering a transfer.

What we do

  • Plan your development. We identify your role, existing credentials, prior experience and the next steps the credential requires, and we write them down as a plan you can follow.
  • Mentor rating and field work. We connect classroom understanding with authorized practical assignments and evaluation, so you learn on real work under real supervision.
  • Coach modeling and documentation. We review how your observations and diagnostic results become accurate model inputs and project records, the two places QA findings most often begin.
  • Coordinate recertification and corrective training. We arrange the evaluations or refresher work your professional status calls for and track what each one establishes.

Our process

  1. Review the starting point. We confirm your credentials, the requirements that apply to your role and what you want to achieve.
  2. Define the development scope. Together we settle the mentoring, practice, evidence and evaluation the plan will include.
  3. Practice and receive feedback. You build the required skills on real or approved training projects, with feedback tied to what a QA reviewer would look for.
  4. Document progress. We record evaluations and map the next credential or authorization steps, so you always know where you stand.

What you receive

A written development plan, mentored practice with feedback on both field and modeling work, records of each evaluation completed, and a clear statement of the next requirement in your pathway. Where recertification or corrective training applies, you receive the coordinated evaluations and the documentation your status requires.

Benefits

  • Development tied to actual performance needs, not a generic curriculum.
  • Experienced feedback on both field and modeling work from the people who review rating files under our providership.
  • A clearer understanding of the next professional requirement and what it does and does not establish.

Why Green Summit

Green Summit is a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions in building performance, and we connect mentoring directly with our provider QA experience. A licensed engineering firm founded in 2014 and RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221, we see where rating files go wrong and teach to those points. We distinguish learning a skill, passing an evaluation and receiving a credential, so every candidate understands what each step does and does not establish.

Credential and recertification decisions depend on the requirements that apply and on successful completion of every necessary step. We never present participation as a guarantee of certification, employment or project assignments.

Frequently asked questions

What is HERS credentialing?

HERS credentialing is the process by which RESNET certifies HERS Raters and Rating Field Inspectors and keeps those credentials current. It combines required training, examinations, practical evaluations and affiliation with a Rating Provider, followed by recertification requirements over time. Green Summit provides the mentoring, supervised practice and evaluations that support that process; RESNET sets the standards and grants the credential.

Who is this service for?

Credential candidates and existing professionals who want to develop technical skills or address a defined learning need. A candidate may need supervised practice before an evaluation; a certified rater may need to resolve a recurring QA finding or prepare for recertification. We start from your role, your experience and the next step your credential requires.

Does mentoring replace required exams or evaluations?

No. Formal certification requirements still apply in full. We connect study, field practice and feedback with the credential pathway, and we never present attendance as certification.

Can training include live project work?

Yes, where the pathway calls for it. Practical experience on live projects requires supervision, site permission and documentation, and candidate activities stay within the responsibilities you are authorized to perform.

Can you support a professional changing providers?

Yes. We review your prior experience, records and current standing to identify onboarding or development needs. A transfer never erases an unresolved qualification or QA requirement, and we tell you what remains open before you move.

Are training-provider and rating-provider approvals the same?

No. The deliverer, accreditation and approval each course or credential activity requires are separate questions, and we identify them for each offering. Our Rating Provider status is never used as a substitute for Training Provider accreditation.
