RESNET Rating Providership

A provider relationship built around the quality of your work and the record behind it.

RESNET sets the standards for home energy ratings and certifies the professionals who perform them. A Rating Provider is the accredited organization that administers those ratings: it affiliates HERS Raters, reviews their files and field work, and registers the finished rating. Green Summit is RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221. We support affiliated HERS professionals with defined submission procedures, file and field quality assurance, technical review and mentoring, so every rating record can be traced from the field observations to the final result.

Who this is for

Independent HERS Raters, Rating Field Inspectors and rating companies that want a provider relationship with clear procedures, real technical review and mentoring behind it.

What we do

  • Onboard and transfer. We review your credentials, any existing provider relationship, your open work and the requirements for affiliation, then set up a clean start under our providership.
  • Review files and field work. We check the required evidence, observe authorized field work and communicate findings clearly, tied to the specific rating rather than a generic checklist.
  • Answer technical questions. We help affiliated professionals resolve rating, modeling and documentation questions before the rating is submitted, not after it is rejected.
  • Track corrections and development. We follow required corrections through to closure and connect recurring issues with mentoring or training that addresses the cause.

Our process

  1. Review fit and qualifications. We discuss your business, the markets you work in, the software you use and your current standing with RESNET.
  2. Complete onboarding. Together we settle affiliation, submission procedures, documentation standards and responsibilities in writing, so expectations are clear before the first file arrives.
  3. Submit and review work. You follow the provider-controlled QA and registration process; we review the file and field evidence and respond with findings you can act on.
  4. Maintain consistency. We keep records current together and respond to standards changes and QA findings as they arise, so your practice stays in step with the current requirements.

What you receive

A defined submission procedure, file and field review with findings tied to the rating record, technical support while the rating is still open, and registration of the completed rating through our provider controls. When a pattern shows up across your files, you also receive a mentoring or training plan that addresses it.

Benefits

  • A clear submission and review process you can plan your work around.
  • Technical feedback connected to the actual rating record, not a generic reminder about the standard.
  • A provider relationship that supports an independent practice. Your clients remain your clients; we provide the oversight, review and support the providership requires.

Why Green Summit

Commitment. Consistency. Compliance. At Green Summit those are practical expectations, not a slogan. We are a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions in building performance, and our providership combines experienced Quality Assurance Designee (QAD) leadership with a licensed engineering firm and hands-on field expertise. The person reviewing your file understands how the home was built and how the test was run. Founded in 2014, we respect the affiliate's client relationship while taking the provider's oversight obligations seriously.

Affiliation covers authorized work under our Rating Providership. It is not Training Provider or Sampling Provider accreditation, it does not automatically qualify an affiliate for unrelated inspections, and we never present it as a guarantee of assignments.

Frequently asked questions

What is a RESNET Rating Provider?

RESNET sets the standards for home energy ratings and certifies the professionals who perform them. A Rating Provider is the RESNET-accredited organization that administers those ratings: it affiliates HERS Raters, reviews their files and field work under provider-controlled quality assurance, and registers the completed ratings. Green Summit holds that role as RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221.

What is Green Summit's provider role?

As RESNET Rating Provider No. 1998-221, we support affiliated HERS professionals through rating administration, technical support and provider-controlled quality assurance. We review the work, help resolve technical questions and keep the record traceable from field observations to the final result.

Can an existing rating company affiliate or transfer to Green Summit?

Often, yes, and the conversation starts with a review. We look at the company's needs, current standing and open work, then define the onboarding requirements. The process includes the affiliation agreements, qualifications, records and technical expectations that apply to your practice, and we walk through each of them with you before anything is signed.

Does affiliation guarantee project assignments?

No, and we never present it that way. Field opportunities depend on demand, location, qualifications and separate project agreements. Providership is not a promise of leads, revenue or a particular volume of work.

Does a HERS credential authorize rebate or solar inspections?

Not by itself. Rebate programs, solar inspections and other inspection types can require additional training, credentials, program acceptance and independence, and each of those roles must be authorized separately. We will tell you what a program requires before you take the assignment.

How do you support consistency?

We connect technical questions, file and field review, corrective action and ongoing learning inside one documented provider workflow. Expectations are clear before a rating is submitted, so a QA finding points to something specific in the record and to the step that closes it.

Let's talk about your rating practice.
