Incentive & Utility Rebate Strategy
Find the programs that fit the project, not the other way around.
An attractive incentive is only useful when the project can meet its requirements, and many programs decide eligibility before the equipment is ordered. Federal, state, local and utility programs each carry their own preapproval steps, eligible-cost rules, stacking restrictions and closeout evidence, so the sequence matters as much as the amount. Green Summit helps owners and project teams identify, evaluate and coordinate those programs around actual building and energy needs. We bring technical review into the process early, so equipment choices, applications, inspections and funding assumptions line up before commitments are made.

Who this is for
Any owner or project team with a building improvement or energy project in front of it: developers, owners, contractors and design teams, housing providers, public and Tribal organizations, manufacturers and the advisors who work with them.
What we do
- Screen the programs. We review location, utility territory, ownership, building type and the planned improvements to find the programs that could fit the project.
- Evaluate technical fit. We compare the project's measures with each program's requirements and with the savings or equipment evidence it demands.
- Coordinate compatible benefits. We review potential combinations and identify restrictions, overlapping costs and funding assumptions that no administrator has confirmed yet.
- Support applications and closeout. We prepare the technical exhibits, coordinate agency questions and document the completed work.
Our process
- Establish the project and its non-incentive objectives. The building need comes first; the incentives follow it, never the reverse.
- Check current program requirements before purchases or installation. We read the preapproval, contractor and installation-date rules before the order is placed, not after.
- Coordinate technical documentation and verification through closeout. We keep the inspection evidence and the application record aligned until the administrator has what it needs.
What you receive
An opportunity summary, an eligibility-information checklist, technical application support and a closeout plan for the programs you select. Availability and approval remain subject to the relevant administrator.
Benefits
- A project-specific view of potential incentives and their application dependencies.
- Less duplication in technical records and a clearer path through preapproval and closeout.
- A decision record that separates confirmed program terms from assumptions still awaiting administrator approval.
Why Green Summit
Green Summit brings building analysis, field verification and documentation review into the same project conversation. We are a licensed engineering firm with in-house CPAs and a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions, so the same team that evaluates the measure can verify it in the field and document it for the application. We define our role alongside you and the program team, with clear distinctions between advice, implementation and independent oversight.
We are not the program administrator, and we will tell you when the program itself offers help you should use first. Founded in 2014, we build every record to be audit-ready from day one.
Frequently asked questions
What is an incentive and utility rebate strategy?
A project-specific plan that identifies the federal, state, local and utility programs a building or energy project can realistically meet, checks their requirements before equipment is purchased or installed, and sequences the applications, inspections and closeout evidence so no benefit is forfeited by an early commitment. Availability and approval always remain with the program administrator.
Can several incentives be combined?
Sometimes. We check compatibility, cost allocation and program restrictions for the specific project before anyone assumes a combined benefit. Stacking is never automatic.
Should we contact you before ordering equipment?
Yes. Some programs require approval or other steps before you commit or install. Early review removes avoidable uncertainty.
Can you guarantee funding?
No. The relevant agencies or administrators control funding availability, program approval and final payment. We never promise funding; we make sure the project can meet the requirements and the record supports the application.
How do you avoid counting the same benefit twice?
We review each program's eligible costs, stacking restrictions, timing and approval requirements. The decision record separates confirmed program terms from assumptions that still need administrator approval.
Can you help compare a rebate with a financing option?
Yes. Rebates, tax benefits and financing have different economics and obligations. We organize them into a project comparison with your advisors, and we never represent financing as a rebate or as a guarantee of savings.
Let's find the programs your project can actually meet.
Tell us the project location, its stage and the improvements you are planning, before the equipment is ordered if you can.
