Energy incentives & project substantiation

The deduction starts with the building, not the headline number.

Every energy incentive rests on three facts: what was built, when construction began and who owns it. Green Summit connects eligible-project screening, energy modeling and field verification with the tax position your firm evaluates, so the conversation with your client is grounded in the property rather than a headline deduction. The engineering is ours; final filing decisions and tax returns remain with the authorized advisors.

What we offer accounting & advisory firms

  • Elective Pay / Direct Pay Support

When your client is a tax-exempt or public-sector organization, we coordinate the technical and documentation work behind a potential elective payment on qualifying energy credits.

  • Energy Investment Tax-Credit Support

For solar, storage and other qualifying energy property, including Section 48E, we provide the technical analysis, equipment review and cost documentation behind a project-specific credit review.

  • Incentive & Utility Rebate Strategy

Identify, evaluate and coordinate the federal, state, local and utility programs that fit a client's actual building and energy needs, not the other way around.

  • Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Credit Support

For manufacturing clients, we map products to the 45X component definitions and organize production, capacity and supply-chain data, so your team can compute the credit and test the foreign-entity and integrated-component rules.

  • Section 48E Clean Electricity Investment Credit Support

We give your client engagements the engineering side of a 48E claim: dated construction-start evidence, a facility description and a cost-basis schedule tied to the installed scope, with the open questions listed for your review.

  • Section 179D for Building Owners

For taxable owners of commercial and qualifying multifamily buildings with efficient HVAC, lighting or envelope systems. We evaluate the building systems, project dates and supporting records, then deliver the engineering analysis and required certification your team needs.

  • Section 179D for Designers

When your client is the architect, engineer or other potentially eligible designer of the systems on a qualifying tax-exempt-owned building, we bring the technical review, owner coordination and documentation together, without assuming that participation in construction alone establishes designer eligibility.

How we work with your team

  • Screen dates first.

Construction-start and placed-in-service records decide whether a 179D question is worth your client's time, so we check them before any modeling.

  • Ground the conversation in the property.

Building systems, project records and the required site inspection come before any discussion of the deduction's size.

  • Leave the tax position where it belongs.

We deliver engineering analysis, certification and documentation; final filing decisions and tax returns remain with the authorized advisors, and we never present a deduction as a guaranteed cash return.

Why Green Summit

Green Summit combines a licensed engineering firm with in-house CPAs, founded in 2014 as a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions in specialty tax credits and incentives. Our leadership's 179D experience dates to 2007, professional experience that predates the firm's founding, and every certification we deliver is built to be audit-ready from day one: engineered substantiation, not estimates.

Let's talk about the energy incentives on your clients' projects.

Tell us the client's role, the building and its location, and when construction started or is expected to start.
