Designer incentives & project administration

Turn a tax provision your Nation cannot use into an incentive your Nation controls.

A Tribal Nation pays no federal income tax, so a federal deduction sounds like someone else's conversation. On an eligible Tribal building, though, the Section 179D deduction can be allocated to the eligible designers of its energy-efficient systems, and the Nation decides whether that happens. Green Summit helps you evaluate designer requests, run an orderly approval process and keep the records behind each decision, with the Tribe retaining its allocation and approval role throughout.

What we offer Tribal Nations and Tribal organizations

  • Designer Incentive & Allocation Support for Tribal Projects

An eligible Tribal building can create a Section 179D incentive for the professionals who designed its qualifying energy-efficient systems. We help the Nation understand that opportunity and coordinate the technical review, designer communication, approvals and allocation records.

  • Elective Pay / Direct Pay Support

A separate route from a designer allocation: for an eligible Nation or Tribal organization, we coordinate the technical and documentation work behind a potential elective payment for qualifying energy credits.

  • Incentive & Utility Rebate Strategy

Find the federal, state, local and utility programs that fit the Nation's actual building and energy needs, and coordinate them so nothing is forfeited by an early equipment order.

  • Section 48E Clean Electricity Investment Credit Support

Tribal governments can elect direct payment of the clean electricity investment credit on Nation-owned solar, storage and other zero-emission facilities; we document the facility, its costs and its dates so the benefit the Nation controls is supported from the start.

How we work with your team

  • The Nation decides.

We organize the facts, the requests and the records; your designated staff and counsel review and approve, and we never present an allocation as a formality.

  • Dates first, deduction second.

We screen construction-start and placed-in-service records before anyone counts on an incentive.

  • Records that hold up.

Every allocation rests on engineering analysis, site inspection and certification, kept in the Nation's files and audit-ready from day one.

Why Green Summit

Green Summit combines a licensed engineering firm with in-house CPAs and a Cherokee-TERO certified perspective, and our leadership's 179D experience dates to 2007, before the firm was founded in 2014. We work alongside Tribal staff and counsel, support the Nation's own decisions and never position the Tribe as the designer's tax claimant.

Let's talk about your Nation's buildings.

Tell us about the building, any designer requests you have received and who should be part of the conversation.
