California Title 24 Energy-Code Support
Keep Title 24 compliance connected from the first drawing to the final verification.
California's Title 24, Part 6 sets the state's building-energy requirements, and two facts decide most of the work: the jurisdiction, with its Energy Code edition and local amendments, and the compliance path, prescriptive or performance, that the project follows. Settle those at the outset and the modeling, documentation and verification fall into sequence; miss them and the permit set gets corrected in the field. Green Summit helps project teams define and coordinate that work, with modeling, documentation and qualified verification interfaces identified before the design is fixed. We are a licensed engineering firm and a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions; we are not the enforcement agency, and your permit authority makes every compliance determination.

Who this page is for
Project teams building or renovating in California, from developers, builders, contractors and design teams to facility owners, whose permit set must show Title 24, Part 6 compliance, and the California engineers and verifiers they work with.
What we do
- Establish applicability and pathway. We verify permit timing, building classification, the Energy Code edition that applies and any local amendments, then identify the prescriptive or performance path the project will follow.
- Coordinate the energy analysis and documentation. We work in the accepted compliance software, align the design assumptions and assemble the compliance records the engagement covers.
- Hand off verification cleanly. We identify installation documentation, Energy Code Compliance field verification and nonresidential acceptance-testing roles, and the authorized providers who must perform them.
Our process
- Review the project. We start with the location, the permit date, the plans and the scope.
- Set the analysis and the responsibilities. We define the compliance analysis with your team and assign each authorized role to the professional who holds it.
- Track changes through closeout. We follow design changes, field evidence and closeout information with the permit team.
Benefits
- A clear distinction between national rating services and California-specific requirements.
- Modeling inputs and installed-system evidence that agree with each other.
- A defined technical scope for the design and construction team.
Why Green Summit
Green Summit connects engineering analysis with field documentation and establishes the California-specific professional and program requirements at the start, not at inspection. Founded in 2014, we are a licensed engineering firm, and we build every compliance record to be audit-ready from day one.
We hold a national RESNET Rating Provider credential (No. 1998-221), and we never present it as California Energy Code Compliance authorization. We are an independent consulting firm, not the enforcement agency and not the program administrator, and we will tell you when the program itself offers free help you should use first.
Frequently asked questions
What is Title 24, Part 6?
Part 6 of California's Title 24 is the state's Building Energy Efficiency Standards, the Energy Code that residential and nonresidential projects must meet to obtain a permit. Compliance runs through a prescriptive or performance path, uses accepted compliance software and documentation, and ends with field verification and, for nonresidential systems, acceptance testing.
Does this cover every part of Title 24?
No. This service focuses on Part 6 energy compliance. Structural, fire, accessibility, planning and other code disciplines need their own responsible professionals and approvals.
Which Energy Code edition applies?
The 2025 Energy Code applies to permit applications submitted on or after January 1, 2026, subject to the rules that govern your project. We verify the actual permit and project conditions rather than relying on the construction completion date.
Can any HERS Rater perform California verification?
No. California has its own approved provider and verification requirements, including the Energy Code Compliance framework, and national HERS credentials do not satisfy them by default. We identify the authorized verifier for your project rather than assume one.
What about nonresidential acceptance testing?
Required tests and technician qualifications depend on the systems and the code that applies. We identify those responsibilities, including authorized acceptance-test personnel where they are required, in the project scope.
Can you coordinate with our California engineer?
Yes. We provide defined analysis and documentation support alongside your licensed design and verification professionals, and we never displace their statutory responsibilities.
Let's talk about your California project.
Tell us the jurisdiction, the permit date or expected submission date, the building type and whether the design is still open.
