New Jersey LGEA Follow-Through & Technical Support
The program funds the audit. The decisions that follow are where the value is.
The Local Government Energy Audit program offers an official audit route for eligible public and nonprofit facilities in New Jersey, and the program funds that audit. An audit, though, is a list of recommendations, not a decision: someone still has to weigh them against budgets, operations and procurement, choose what to build and verify that it worked. Green Summit helps owners understand how separately contracted planning, project development and verification complement the audit instead of duplicating the program-funded service. We are a licensed engineering firm founded in 2014, independent of the program and its administrator.

Who this page is for
Eligible public and nonprofit facility owners in New Jersey, and the facility, finance and procurement teams responsible for acting on an audit once it arrives.
What we do
- Point you to the official audit route. We help you identify the official route and the information the program needs from you.
- Weigh the recommendations. We review the audit's recommendations against your capital, operational and procurement priorities.
- Define the follow-through. We develop a defined scope for modeling, commissioning or performance verification of the measures you choose to pursue.
Our process
- Confirm the official program. We establish the audit's status with the program and who is responsible for each part of what follows.
- Define the additional technical work. We identify what the facility needs beyond what the program already funds, and we never duplicate a program-funded service.
- Coordinate the records. We deliver the analysis, records and follow-up to the owner and the program administrator.
What you receive
A prioritized reading of the audit's recommendations against your capital and operating priorities, and a defined follow-through scope for the modeling, commissioning or performance verification the chosen projects need.
Benefits
- A clear program route, with the official audit used first and paid work reserved for a defined need.
- A defined technical scope with accountable responsibilities for what happens after the audit.
- Records organized for the next decision, whether that is a budget request, a procurement or a verification plan.
Why Green Summit
Green Summit combines building analysis, engineering coordination and field verification with an understanding of the owner's project objectives. Founded in 2014, we are a licensed engineering firm, and our documentation is built to be audit-ready from day one.
We are an independent consulting firm, not the program administrator, and we will tell you when the program itself offers free help you should use first. With LGEA that is the audit itself, and we will say so before we propose anything.
Frequently asked questions
What is the New Jersey Local Government Energy Audit program?
LGEA is a state-supported audit offering for eligible public and nonprofit facilities, delivered through the official program, NJCEP. The program funds the audit itself; evaluating the recommendations, planning implementation and verifying results are separate decisions that belong to the owner.
Is Green Summit the state-appointed LGEA auditor?
No, and this page represents no such appointment. Eligible entities should confirm official audit delivery with NJCEP, and any Green Summit work requires its own authorized scope.
Should we pay for an audit that the program provides?
Not for the same deliverable. Review the available official service first. Separately paid work should address a defined need, such as implementation planning or a different technical scope, never a second charge for the same program-funded audit.
What happens after the audit?
You still need to evaluate recommendations, budgets, implementation responsibilities and verification. Green Summit helps organize that next decision and the technical requirements that come with it.
What determines the Green Summit engagement?
The project's actual technical need, the program's permitted roles and any professional qualifications the program requires. We identify deliverables and fees before work starts; funding approval is not guaranteed.
