New Jersey Community Energy Planning Support

Connect community goals to the facilities, actions and projects that can actually be built.

Community energy planning gives local teams a framework for defining energy priorities, and the community owns that framework: its representatives decide what matters. Where a plan usually stalls is the distance between the goal and the building, which facilities, which measures, in what order and with what evidence. Green Summit contributes building and infrastructure analysis, practical project scopes and technical coordination to an authorized community-led planning effort. We are a licensed engineering firm founded in 2014, independent of the program and its administrator.

Who this page is for

Local government and community teams in New Jersey preparing for a future Community Energy Plan round or working from a plan they already have, together with their authorized representatives.

What we do

  • Organize the information. We assemble the facility and energy information that bears on the community's priorities.
  • Turn measures into projects. We translate potential measures into defined projects, each with its scope and the implementation questions it raises.
  • Map the path to funding. We identify the sequencing, technical partners and information a future funding application will need.

Our process

  1. Confirm the official program. We establish where the program stands, the status of any existing plan and who is responsible for each part.
  2. Define the additional technical work. We identify what the planning effort needs beyond what the program already funds, and we never duplicate a program-funded service.
  3. Coordinate the records. We deliver the analysis, records and follow-up to the community's representatives and, where a grant is involved, the program administrator.

What you receive

An organized facility and energy picture for the community, a set of defined projects with their implementation questions answered or assigned, and a documented sequence with the technical partners and information the next funding round will call for.

Benefits

  • A clear program route, with the round's real status stated rather than assumed.
  • A defined technical scope with accountable responsibilities inside a community-led process.
  • Records organized for the next decision, whether that is a council vote, a capital request or a future application.

Why Green Summit

Green Summit combines building analysis, engineering coordination and field verification with an understanding of the owner's project objectives. Founded in 2014, we are a licensed engineering firm, and the records we deliver are built to be audit-ready from day one, so a plan can carry its evidence into a funding application.

We are an independent consulting firm, not the program administrator, and we will tell you when the program itself offers free help you should use first. The priorities stay the community's; our job is to make them buildable.

Frequently asked questions

What is New Jersey community energy planning?

Community energy planning gives local teams a framework for defining their energy priorities, and the state has offered grant rounds to support it. The community and its authorized representatives own the plan; technical input turns broad goals into facility-specific actions and an implementation sequence.

Is a new Community Energy Plan grant round open?

The official page showed applications closed when we reviewed it. We are glad to discuss planning services, but we never assume a new grant award or a reopened round.

Who determines the community priorities?

The community and its authorized representatives do. Green Summit provides technical input inside that process; we never substitute a generic plan for local decision-making.

Can the plan connect to a building portfolio?

Yes. Benchmarking, audits and capital planning turn broad goals into facility-specific actions and a documented implementation sequence.

What determines the Green Summit engagement?

The project's actual technical need, the program's permitted roles and any professional qualifications the program requires. We identify deliverables and fees before work starts; funding approval is not guaranteed.
