New Jersey CHP Feasibility Study Coordination
Ask the right thermal and operating questions before the study starts, not after.
New Jersey lists a combined heat and power (CHP) feasibility-study offering separately from its CHP installation incentive, and the two answer different questions. A feasibility study tells you whether the facility has the useful thermal demand and operating hours to justify CHP; it does not fund, permit, interconnect or design anything. Green Summit helps owners organize the facility information a study needs and decide how official study assistance and any additional technical work fit the project. We are a licensed engineering firm and a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions, and we start from the help the program already provides.

Who this page is for
Owners and operators of New Jersey facilities weighing combined heat and power, and the facility, engineering and finance staff who will act on what the study finds.
What we do
- Prepare the facility information. We assemble the available load, equipment and operating information a feasibility review needs, in the form the reviewers can use.
- Separate program analysis from added scope. We distinguish the analysis the program provides from any additional work you request, so you never pay for the same study twice.
- Review the results with the right specialists. We walk through findings, assumptions and next-step requirements with the engineers and operators responsible for the decision.
Our process
- Verify the program, the project and the parties. We check the official program's current terms, your project's status and who is responsible for each part of the work.
- Define the additional technical work. We identify what the program-funded study will not cover and define only that work, so nothing is duplicated.
- Coordinate records, analysis and follow-up. We keep you and the program administrator working from the same records and close open items as the study moves forward.
Benefits
- A clear view of which program route fits your facility.
- A defined technical scope with accountable responsibilities.
- Organized records ready for the next decision, whether that is procurement, design or a decision not to proceed.
Why Green Summit
Green Summit combines building analysis, engineering coordination and field verification with a working understanding of what you want the facility to accomplish. Founded in 2014, we are a licensed engineering firm, and we build every record to be audit-ready from day one.
We are an independent consulting firm, not the state, not the utility and not automatically an approved program delivery contractor, and we will tell you when the program itself offers free help you should use first.
Frequently asked questions
What is a CHP feasibility study?
A feasibility study evaluates whether combined heat and power fits a facility by examining its useful thermal demand, operating hours, costs, fuel and electricity assumptions, and maintenance and performance expectations. New Jersey offers study assistance separately from its CHP installation incentive. The study informs the owner's decision; it approves nothing on its own.
Is a feasibility study an incentive approval?
No. A study informs the decision. It does not itself establish funding, permits, interconnection or a final equipment design, and we never present it as if it did.
Can we use the same study for procurement?
Often not without further development. A feasibility report may need additional detail before it becomes a procurement or design package, and we identify that detail and the professional responsibilities it requires.
What should we review in the results?
Useful thermal demand, operating hours, costs, fuel and electricity assumptions, and maintenance and performance expectations. Each should be clear enough to support your next decision; if one is not, that is the question to resolve before you move on.
What determines the Green Summit engagement?
The project's actual technical need, the roles the program permits and any professional qualifications the work requires. We identify deliverables and fees before work starts, and we never present funding approval as guaranteed.
How current is the information on this page?
Program information was reviewed on September 22, 2026. Confirm current availability, deadlines, approved providers and requirements with the official program before committing to work.
