Accounting-Firm Technical Partnerships
An engineering partner that works alongside your advisory team, never around it.
Most tax incentive studies are written by accountants. Ours are written by engineers and reviewed by CPAs, and delivered through your firm on an engagement model you agree before the first client is introduced. Green Summit partners with accounting firms to deliver the technical studies and evidence their clients need, and the relationship begins by settling who communicates, what Green Summit delivers, how reviews work and where each party's professional responsibilities remain. We understand that a referral is an extension of your firm's reputation, so we support the authorized tax and accounting professionals rather than replace them; final filing decisions and tax returns remain with the authorized advisors.
- In-house CPAs

- Audit-ready documentation
Who this is for
CPA firms and advisory practices that want engineering-based studies for their clients without building every technical specialty in-house.
What we do
- Define the delivery arrangement. Choose collaborative, client-facing work under both names or properly documented behind-the-scenes technical support. We write down which one applies and what it requires of each party.
- Deliver engineering-backed studies. Cost segregation, fixed-asset, energy-incentive and related technical analyses, performed by engineers and reviewed by our in-house CPAs, on the authorization the engagement sets.
- Coordinate client communication. We settle introductions, information requests, meetings and the release of findings with your team, so the client hears one consistent story.
- Follow through on the technical questions. We answer questions about source records, engineering assumptions and deliverables for as long as the engagement defines.
Our process
- Set the relationship. We put contracting, confidentiality, fees, client ownership and communication roles in writing.
- Qualify the assignment. We review the client's facts and the problem the study needs to solve, and we say so when a study is not worth doing.
- Perform and review. We complete the technical work and coordinate review with the advisors your firm designates.
- Deliver together. We provide the substantiation and the technical follow-up the engagement calls for.
Benefits
- Technical depth without duplicating every specialty inside your firm.
- A clear operating model for the shared client engagement, settled before the work starts.
- Evidence prepared for advisor review rather than a sales-only estimate, built to be audit-ready from day one.
Why Green Summit
Green Summit is a consulting partner delivering end-to-end compliance solutions in specialty tax credits and incentives, building performance and advisory services, one of a select few firms that combine a licensed engineering firm with in-house CPAs. Founded in 2014, we build every study to be audit-ready from day one: engineered substantiation, not estimates. Our founders' individual cost segregation experience dates to 2001 and 2007, respectively, professional experience that predates the firm's founding, and it shapes how we classify assets, develop costs and review our own work.
We understand that the firm's client relationship matters and that a referral is an extension of your firm's reputation. We establish the boundaries in writing and support, rather than replace, the authorized tax and accounting professionals. Branding arrangements do not alter who performed the work or the underlying professional responsibilities. Green Summit is not a CPA attest firm or a legal advisor; final tax positions, filings and professional-independence judgments remain with the relevant authorized advisors.
Frequently asked questions
What is an accounting-firm technical partnership?
It is a defined working arrangement in which Green Summit performs the engineering-based studies and technical analyses a CPA firm's clients need while the firm keeps the client relationship and the advisory role. The arrangement sets who engages the client, who communicates, what Green Summit delivers, how the firm's designated advisors review the work and where each party's professional responsibilities remain. It can be collaborative and client-facing, or behind the scenes with the documentation that arrangement requires.
Will Green Summit compete for our accounting relationship?
No. We structure the partnership around a defined technical role alongside your firm, and we settle communication, client permissions, deliverables and boundaries in advance so your advisory relationship stays central.
Can we choose referral, joint or branded delivery?
Yes, and the right arrangement depends on the work and on your professional obligations. We document who engages the client, who provides advice, who reviews results and who is identified in reports rather than assuming one delivery model fits every service. Branding does not change who performed the work.
What information should we share for an opportunity review?
Start with the property or project, the client's question, the relevant dates and the records available. Sensitive tax information follows a secure, authorized exchange after the scope is established, never the initial inquiry.
Who makes the final tax filing decision?
Your firm and the client's authorized tax professionals. Green Summit supplies the contracted engineering studies, technical evidence and explanations; final filing decisions and tax returns remain with the authorized advisors.
Can we review a portfolio of clients or properties?
Yes. A structured screening prioritizes likely opportunities and identifies missing information without promising eligibility or benefits before project-level review.
